cortexparasite An absolute masterpiece mixing acoustic folk music with death metal. The album is best enjoyed as one long piece with repeating themes and excellent structure. Favorite track: The Means to Preserve.

Anthony Cooper It's difficult to put into words quite how incredible this album is. The songwriting, the performances, the orchestrations, the lyrics, the Opethian contrasts between dark and light; everything is pitch-perfect and blends seamlessly into one of the most epic and genuinely affecting metal albums you're ever likely to hear.

From the opening notes right through to their reprisal in the moving instrumental that brings the record to a close, Sleep at the Edge of the Earth is a true masterpiece. Favorite track: The Means to Preserve.

Take a half-filled box of Folk Metal and add Christian Älvestams' Clean Vocals, Meadows Ends' Orchestrations and a pinch of both Aether Realm and Kaatarakt. Shake it. What you now hold in your hands is nothing more than an inkling of what Wilderun created. SATEOTE is a masterpiece, a perfect blend consisting of the best bits and pieces from different genres. Favorite track: The Garden of Fire.
